Discus the Lions and their game here!| Lions' RB Jones out against Dolphins | | Kevin Jones, Detroit's leading rusher and second-leading receiver, was inactive for the Thanksgiving Day game between the Lions and Miami Dolphins. Jones sprained his ankle in Sunday's loss at Arizona. He was replaced by Arlen Harris.
Detroit was also without defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (knee), kick returner Eddie Drummond (concussion) and defensive tackle Shaun Cody (toe). Little-used wide receiver Mike Williams, Detroit's first-round pick in 2005, was active. Williams has not caught a pass this season. Miami cornerback Will Allen was inactive with a groin injury and was replaced in the starting lineup by Travis Daniels.
| | Kevin Jones: Sits Out Thursday's Game | | Jones (ankle sprain) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Dolphins. Recommendation: Arlen Harris will get the start at running back in Jones' place, with Aveion Cason likely in the mix as well. | |
| | Why do the Detroit Lions suck so bad? | | The lions have quality talent in roy williams, mike furrey, and mike williams ( still waiting for him to decide to actually play). They have kevin jones at running back and pro bowl caliber players such as shaun rogers and boss bailey. They got one of the best special teams in the league with jason hanson and eddie drummond. the best offensive coordinator in football with mike martz. The only down point is their offensive line. Their record doesn't show their talent. when will it | |
| | Arlen Harris: Quiet Day Filling in for Jones | |
Harris had 15 yards on eight carries in the Lions' 27-10 loss to the Dolphins on Thursday. Recommendation: Harris got the start in place of the injured Kevin Jones (ankle), but the Lions' running game was virtually non-existent, as they threw on a whopping 80 percent of their plays.
| | Arlen Harris: Figures to Start Thursday | | With Kevin Jones not expected to play Thursday, Harris figures to get the start at running back against the Dolphins. Recommendation: Aveion Cason figures to be in the mix as well, but Harris is an option this week for those scrambling for a warm body to plug in at running back. | |

| | NFL Capsules | | Tony Romo tied a Dallas Cowboys record with five touchdown passes Thursday in a 38-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was the ninth time it's happened in team history and the first time on Thanksgiving. More impressive: Troy Aikman never did it in regulation and Roger Staubach never did it at all.
As wild as it seems to mention Romo with those Hall of Famers -- especially because this was only his fifth start -- he's certainly proving worthy. After spending the first 3 1/2 years of his career on the bench, Romo won NFC offensive player of the week honors and outplayed Peyton Manning in his previous two starts. Dallas has won three straight for the first time this season and is 4-1 since Romo took over for Drew Bledsoe. Now 7-4, the Cowboys go into the weekend with a half-game lead over the New York Giants in the NFC East and are second only to Chicago in the conference. Terry Glenn caught the first two TD passes, of 30 and 2 yards. Marion Barber III caught the next two, giving him an NFC-best 11 touchdowns. The record-tying fifth touchdown went to Terrell Owens. Tampa Bay (3-8) drove 80 yards for a touchdown on the first drive of the...
| | Miami at Detroit | | Joey Harrington never won three straight games in a single season with the Detroit Lions. He's already done it in just six starts for the Miami Dolphins. Harrington, a former first-round pick of the Lions, returns to Detroit on Thanksgiving as the Dolphins try to move within one game of .500. Harrington was traded to Miami (4-6) in May, just four years after the Lions (2-8) drafted him third overall. He became the scapegoat for Detroit's woes during his time there, as the team went 18-40 in games during which Harrington played. The quarterback's return to Ford Field -- where he was booed unmercifully -- will provide intrigue in what seems to be a lackluster matchup. "I know that stadium pretty well," said Harrington, who has led Miami to three straight wins and is 3-3 since taking over for Daunte Culpepper. "I know what section the boos come from." After losing to Atlanta last Thanksgiving, the Lions fired Steve Mariucci, and cornerback Dre' Bly later blamed Harrington for it. Bly is doing his best not to escalate the drama. "I ain't talking this week," Bly said. Harrington threw 60 touchdowns and 62 interceptions with the Lions, finishing... | |

The Lions probably aren't feeling so thankful as they head into their Thanksgiving Day game against Miami without running back Kevin Jones and defensive tackle Shaun Rogers. The Dolphins have issues of their own as they try to overcome a banged-up secondary. In other Thursday action, the Cowboys and Bucs have an assortment of minor injuries to deal with while the Broncos and Chiefs could be without a handful of starters for their showdown. Let's go to the injury report and find out who's in, who's out and who might be getting signed! QUARTERBACKDonovan McNabb of the Philadelphia Eagles has been placed on the season-ending injured reserve list with a torn ACL in his right knee. McNabb hopes to be healthy for the start of next season, but his rehab could extend into the early portion of the 2007 campaign. Jeff Garcia will be under center for Sunday's game against Indianapolis but a final decision hasn't been made on whether they'll stick with him or eventually play A.J. Feeley. Meanwhile, the team announced the signing of rookie Omar Jacobs to the practice squad as insurance. Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers expects to return to practice this week...
