Discus the Lions and their game here!
So we won our first preseason game!
With a time running out field goal by Jason Hanson, can you believe he's 39 now? wow.Daunte Culpepper looked good. Solid throws in his limited playing time.Staffords TD throw was VERY pretty, looked like a pro QB throw, was pretty and RIGHT on target. His lone scramble where he put his shoulder down and then carried a guy an extra yard or two was great to see. He's got spirit and talent for sure, let's hope he's the Next Manning and not Harrington.Drew Statons passes were decent. His scrambling looked great. His game ending drive was solid. Can anyone count how many passes our WR's dropped? Geez they were ugly, but with our top 3 WR's out and being first preseason game guess you can't expect a lot from them. Just hope it's not a trend. Was sad to see that Brandon Pettigrough (mispelled name) our other first round draft pick wasn't able to play. But he do go through the morning workouts, so it's not really serious. The RB's all looked good. #21 Arron Brown was eye opening for sure. His rushing and receiving TD's both looked great. Looks like a very nice 1-2 punch is in the making when paired with K.Smith.Our defense didn't...
Was anyone watching the Lions vs. Vikings game yesterday...?
Wow, was that a weird game. For one thing, a large part of the game seemed to be decided not by who was playing well, but who was playing slightly less crappy.=PHere were the two things that really got me though:Jason Hanson MISSED!!! I've heard about it happening before, but I have never ever actually seen him miss before. I think the announcers said it was the first miss out of the last 19 attempts. My husband, who has been a huge fan of his for years was just going "But he's the best kicker ever, what happened?" I guess everyone has a bad kick once in a while, but I was really happy that he got to kick again at the end of the game and redeem himself.=PThe other thing that caught my attention: Is is just me, or is Kitna crazy? He was out a large part of the game after having being injured, then he comes back in, and he's practically trying to get himself killed it looks like. I don't see quarterbacks play like that when they're healthy even. I really admire his heart. I was just sitting there going "Did he just jump OVER that guy?"=PAnyone else have thoughts on this game?
Here's 1 of my Fantasy Football Rosters
I just completed the live draft for both of these in the past 2 days. I think I did pretty good. Both of the fantasy leagues include IDP(Individual Defensive Player) which I enjoy because it makes fantasy football more interesting and allows for different strategies. Anyway what do you think of my roster?League 1:QB:Donovan McNabb, Phillip RiversRB:Reggie Bush, Brian Westbrook, Chester Taylor, LaMont JordanWR:T.J Houshmanzadah, Braylon Edwards, Mike Furrey, Bobby WadeTE:Jeremy Shockey, Desmond ClarkK:Jeff Wilkins, Jason HansonDEF:San Diego, MinnesotaIDP:Jermaine Phillips, Brian Urlacher, Brian Dawkins, Terrell Suggs, Kamerion Wimbley, Aaron Schobel, LaRon Landry
Why do the Detroit Lions suck so bad?
The lions have quality talent in roy williams, mike furrey, and mike williams ( still waiting for him to decide to actually play). They have kevin jones at running back and pro bowl caliber players such as shaun rogers and boss bailey. They got one of the best special teams in the league with jason hanson and eddie drummond. the best offensive coordinator in football with mike martz. The only down point is their offensive line. Their record doesn't show their talent. when will it
Could the Detroit Lions be the worst team of all time?
With only the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers left to play this season, if they fail to win a game could this Lions team be the worst of all time? This team has been a total disappointment to their fans, and have gotten so bad that they may even lose they're yearly Thanksgiving Day game. Personally, I don't know any Lions fans, and I am sure there are alot of them that wouldn't want too admit it right now, but for those of them out there it sure has been a rough season. The worst team of all time is probably the expansion Tampa Bay Bucs, who also went winless, and will likely remain the worst even if the Lions lose out, but this team should be nowhere near 0-14! Looking at this team in the pre-season you would have thought they at least could have made things interesting this year in a division that is one of the worst in football. Instead, they have become the joke of the league!Granted, QB Jon Kitna got hurt early on, but even that should not have made them as pathetic as they have turned out. The offensive line was supposed to be better, and tackle Jeff Backus is supposed to be one of the best offensive lineman in the league. Unfortunately they have been inconsistent...
