Is your team taking "the best player available"? | | Just got finished writing my NFL Draft Guide(now for sale on my website(nudge,nudge) and it is still amazes how some of these people responsible for their teams drafts,such as GM,owners,coaches,etc. don't seem to have a clue about what to do when it comes to drafting. All this talk about we'll take the "best player available" always seems like a joke to me and it's no wonder why some of these teams continue to suck while others remain at the top of the heap!Let's look at the Lions for instance. With the number 1 pick in the draft this year, it is speculated by many that QB Matthew Stafford from Georgia or LB Aaron Curry from Wake Forest are looking more and more to be the favorites over T Jason Smith of Baylor. WHY????? OK,Daunte Culpepper isn't what he used to be, but he has slimmed down again and could definitely help improve this team if he can stay healthy and IF HE HAS SOME BLOCKING! Another factor here is the fact that there will be other QB's still on the board later in the draft that could come in and challenge for a starting role, as well as the fact that they could draft another QB next year if things don't work out for Culpepper this season, so sorry folks, but to me... | |
| | Could the Detroit Lions be the worst team of all time? | | With only the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers left to play this season, if they fail to win a game could this Lions team be the worst of all time? This team has been a total disappointment to their fans, and have gotten so bad that they may even lose they're yearly Thanksgiving Day game. Personally, I don't know any Lions fans, and I am sure there are alot of them that wouldn't want too admit it right now, but for those of them out there it sure has been a rough season. The worst team of all time is probably the expansion Tampa Bay Bucs, who also went winless, and will likely remain the worst even if the Lions lose out, but this team should be nowhere near 0-14! Looking at this team in the pre-season you would have thought they at least could have made things interesting this year in a division that is one of the worst in football. Instead, they have become the joke of the league!Granted, QB Jon Kitna got hurt early on, but even that should not have made them as pathetic as they have turned out. | | Dolphins RB Brown leaves game with injured hand | | Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown injured his left hand early in the third quarter Thursday against the Detroit Lions and did not return. He had 68 yards rushing on 15 carries. On his last carry, linebacker Ernie Sims' helmet hit Brown's hand. Brown shook his left hand as he headed up the tunnel toward Miami's locker room and returned to the sideline with his left hand heavily wrapped and his helmet off. His hand was X-rayed, but Miami coach Nick Saban would not say if it was broken. "He does have an issue and he does have a problem, we just don't know the prognosis," said Saban, adding the team would release details about the injury on Friday. Sammy Morris replaced Brown and rushed 12 times for 91 yards.
